Gideon Ravenor

Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, Protege of Eisenhorn

A psyker channeling immense psychic power

Gideon Ravenor is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos and the most gifted protégé produced by the legendary interrogator-turned-master Gregor Eisenhorn. Trained from his earliest years as Eisenhorn's interrogator, he absorbed both his master's investigative rigor and a keen instinct for the Ordos' oldest weapon: patience. Active across the Scarus and Helican sectors in the fourth century of the 41st Millennium, Ravenor built his reputation on a rare combination of scholarly brilliance and psychic power that few in the Inquisition can match.
That reputation was forged in catastrophe. During the Triumph at Thracian Primaris, a terrorist atrocity all but destroyed his body, leaving him sealed for life within an armored, psi-reactive suspensor chair. Rather than diminish him, the injury sharpened his abilities: Ravenor is among the most powerful sanctioned human psykers of his generation, capable of projecting his mind into his own operatives and acting through their bodies as easily as through his own. His retinue calls the technique simply "wearing" a host, so seamless that his voice can emerge from an ally standing rooms away from the chair that holds his ruined body.
He commands a small, celebrated retinue — among them the killer Harlon Nayl, the psyker Kara Swole, and the scholar-interrogator Carl Thonius — bound to him by loyalty forged in shared danger, and for years led that team in a relentless pursuit of the heretic scholar Zygmunt Molotch across the Imperium. Renowned also as an author of scholarly works on the nature of the Warp and heresy, including the treatise The Spheres of Longing, Ravenor is as feared for his intellect as for the psychic power seething behind his ruined, unseen face. His enemies among the Cognitae and the wider underworld of Scarus have learned to fear the mere rumor of his retinue's approach, long before Ravenor himself ever enters a room.
