Big Mek Orkimedes is a legend among the Orks, a mechanical genius of such extraordinary capability that his inventions have reshaped the way entire WAAAGH! forces wage war. The Big Meks occupy a position of tremendous importance in Ork society — they are the builders, the inventors, the engineers who create the war machines, weapons, and vehicles that the greenskin hordes depend upon for their endless campaigns of conquest. Among this already remarkable cadre of mechanical savants, Orkimedes stands apart as a figure of unmatched creative brilliance and dangerous unpredictability.

Ork technology is one of the great mysteries of the galaxy. By any rational analysis, it should not function — the crude assemblages of scrap metal, looted components, and improvised mechanisms that constitute Ork machinery violate virtually every principle of engineering known to the Imperium's scientists. Yet function they do, propelled by the reality-warping power of the WAAAGH! field — the collective psychic energy generated by large gatherings of Orks that somehow causes their technology to work simply because the Orks believe it should. Orkimedes has an intuitive understanding of this phenomenon that goes beyond even that of most Big Meks, allowing him to build devices of staggering complexity and power that no other species could replicate.

His most famous creation is his personal variant of the Shokk Attack Gun — a weapon so dangerous and unreliable that most Orks refuse to stand within a hundred meters of it when it's activated. The Shokk Attack Gun fires Snotlings through a miniature warp tunnel directly into the bodies and vehicles of the enemy, causing catastrophic damage through the materialization of living matter within solid objects. Orkimedes' version is considerably more powerful than the standard model, incorporating modifications that increase its range, accuracy, and destructive potential — as well as its tendency to catastrophically malfunction.
