Kaldor Draigo

Kaldor Draigo is the forty-eighth and current Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights, the daemon-hunting Chapter that guards its home fortress-monastery on Titan in near-total secrecy, its very existence kept unknown to the wider Imperium it protects. He wields the Titansword, a relic Nemesis blade, and carries a legend few of his brothers can equal: he is a knight condemned to fight his greatest war entirely alone, inside the realm of the enemy itself. Grey Knights speak of him in hushed reverence even within their own secretive ranks, a rare honor in a Chapter that measures every brother by deeds rather than legend.

As a young knight, Draigo defeated and banished the Daemon Prince M'kar, a victory that left the daemon's curse coiled around him unseen for years. He rose swiftly through the Chapter's ranks, becoming Supreme Grand Master only after the Daemon Primarch Mortarion slew Grand Master Geronitan at the Battle of Kornovin, a death Draigo answered by defeating Mortarion himself and carving his fallen master's name into the Death Lord's very heart. That single act of vengeance became scripture within the Chapter, retold by Justicars to novice Knights long before they ever met the Grand Master who performed it.

It was M'kar's reborn curse that finally claimed him: the daemon dragged Draigo bodily into the Warp, where he has wandered the Realm of Chaos for what may be a century of realspace time, toppling daemonic strongholds and defiling the domains of the Dark Gods from within. He surfaces unpredictably at moments of dire daemonic incursion, fights beside his Chapter for as long as fate allows, and is pulled back into the immaterium before the battle's end. No Grey Knight can say when or where he will next appear, only that he always does — a living legend even the denizens of the Warp have learned to fear.
