Jenetia Krole, Knight-Commander of the Sisters of Silence, was one of the most important yet least celebrated warriors of the Horus Heresy — the supreme commander of the Empire's anti-psyker forces at a time when the traitor legions' unrestricted use of warp sorcery threatened to overwhelm the loyalists' defenses. The Sisters of Silence are unique among the Empire's military forces: an all-female order of warriors who are blanks — psychic nulls whose very presence disrupts warp energy, suppresses psychic abilities, and causes intense discomfort to psykers and warp-sensitive beings in their vicinity.

Krole embodied the paradox at the heart of the Sisters of Silence: she was one of the Emperor of Mankind's most valued warriors, yet her very nature made her presence deeply unsettling to virtually everyone around her. Blanks are universally distrusted and feared by normal humans, who experience their null-aura as an instinctive revulsion — a feeling of wrongness that is difficult to articulate but impossible to ignore. Even Space Marines, with their enhanced mental discipline, found prolonged exposure to Krole's presence uncomfortable. She existed in a state of perpetual isolation, respected for her abilities and her leadership but never truly accepted by the warriors she fought alongside.

As Knight-Commander, Krole led the Sisters of Silence through some of the most critical engagements of the Horus Heresy, deploying her warriors as a specialized anti-psyker force that could neutralize the sorcerous advantages the traitor legions enjoyed. The Sisters' ability to project a null-field that suppressed warp energy made them invaluable in engagements against the Thousand Sons, the Word Bearers, and other traitor forces that relied heavily on psychic warfare. Under Krole's command, the Sisters of Silence operated with a tactical sophistication that maximized the impact of their unique abilities, deploying in formations that created overlapping null-fields capable of shutting down psychic activity across entire battlefields.
