Cerastus Knight-Atrapos
Forbidden Assassin of Lost Patterns
The Cerastus Knight-Atrapos is among the rarest and most feared of all Cerastus-pattern relics, a precision assassin chassis equipped with weapons whose technological provenance traces directly to the [[dark-age-technology]]. Its atrapos lascutter is a focused energy beam capable of slicing through titan armour with surgical precision, while its graviton singularity cannon manipulates localised gravity to crush armoured targets from within. Where the Knight-Lancer charges in raw cavalry fury, the Atrapos stalks — a hunter rather than a warrior, designed to terminate single high-value targets and disappear before the enemy can react. The Atrapos pattern is technically forbidden by certain factions within the [[adeptus-mechanicus]], who consider its weapons to verge on heretical innovation. Despite this, several Knight Houses retain functional Atrapos chassis as house secrets, deploying them only against threats that justify breaching ancient prohibitions: traitor Primarchs returning from the warp, daemonic engines of the Ruinous Powers, xenos god-machines that defy conventional answer. To witness an Atrapos in motion is to witness a form of war the [[imperium]] no longer openly practices — silent, surgical, and absolute.

Tactical Role
The Atrapos hunts singular high-value targets — daemon princes, traitor titans, xenos warlords. It avoids prolonged engagements, preferring single decisive strikes followed by withdrawal. Its weapon profile is designed to end fights, not sustain them.
